Global Week will explore three themes

Internationalisation of the Curriculum
Internationalisation of the curriculum involves international, intercultural and/or global dimensions incorporated in the curriculum as well as in learning, assessment of learning outcomes, teaching methods, and the study programme support functions. The aim of this internationalisation is to stimulate students’ development as global citizens, preparing them for the international labour market, to develop the quality of learning and teaching, as well as to optimize synergies with international research. A seminar on internationalisation of the curriculum is expected to provide a fundamental knowledge about the concept, but also an opportunity to compare how international partner institutions and different parts of Lund University are working, as well as inspiration for further development of Lund University’s education and research.

Speaker
Jos Beelen, Senior Policy Adviser for Internationalisation and researcher in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

The Student Experience: Practical Models for Connecting Experiences Abroad to Academic, Professional and Personal Development
Studies show the importance of being able to present results of international exchange, study abroad and international experience. Different types of activities assist students to articulate, reflect and integrate the results from an international experience into the student’s academic, personal and professional life. In this way the student will be better prepared for a future career. It is an important and relevant topic for anyone working with international student mobility nationally as well as internationally.

Speaker
David Wick, Assistant Professor, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, USA.

Strategies for Partnerships
Working with internationalisation in a coherent and strategic process is becoming increasingly important for universities worldwide since internationalisation of higher education is becoming increasingly larger and more complex. International offices are currently working, for example, not only with student mobility but also with research collaborations. There is also an increased specialisation in terms of collaboration with different geographical regions due to different needs and expectations. To set a strategy and priorities can be done in many different ways. A seminar on strategies for partnerships is expected to highlight different possibilities on how to set up and implement strategies. This will provide an opportunity to compare different strategies with international partners. It is also expected to and inspire the participants’ continued internationalisation of education and research.

Speakers
Suzanne Alexander, Director of the International Office at the University of Leicester, UK. EAIE trainer.
Gunilla Carlecrantz, Senior Advisor for External Relations, Lund University, Sweden. EAIE traniner.
