15th Annual Meeting of the Northern European Network for Wood Science and Engineering

About the conference

Established in 2004, the Northern European Network for Wood Science & Engineering currently involves 10 partner countries. Beginning in Honne (N) in 2005, successful annual meetings have subsequently been held in Stockholm (SE), Helsinki (FI), Riga (LV), Copenhagen (DK), Tallinn (EST), Oslo (N), Kaunas (LIT), Hannover (DE), Edinburgh (UK), Poznan (PL), Riga (LV), Copenhagen (DK) and Tallinn (EST).

During this period, the WSE platform has matured into an invaluable forum for researchers in all aspects of wood science and engineering to meet and share knowledge. The organizers welcomed participants to Lund for the 15^th Annual Meeting of WSE on 9-10 October 2019.

Conference fee

There is no conference fee for participants from WSE member countries (see list of countries under “National coordinators for Northern European Network for Wood Science & Engineering” below). The conference fee for participants from other countries is 1700 SEK. ex VAT

Keynote

3D and 4D imaging of wood and wood based structures
Stephen Hall, Associate Professor, Lund University.

Stephen Hall is Associate Professor at the Department of Solid Mechanics, Lund University where his research focusses on experimental mechanics of a wide range of materials using different techniques, including x-ray and neutron methods.  He is in charge of the 4D-Imaging Lab, an X-ray tomography facility at Lund University. He is Director at LINXS - Lund Institute of Advanced Neutron and X-ray Science, which promotes science and education focusing on use of neutrons and X-rays in research and development. Stephen Hall came to Lund in 2011 after moving from Laboratoire 3R in Grenoble, France.
