The Animals in Research session this year will provide and update on anesthesia and analgesia for rodents and rabbits. Our invited speaker is Cholawat Pacharinsak from Stanford University, US. Cholawat is an associate professor of comparative medicine and director of Anesthesia, Pain Management, and Surgery at Stanford University’s Department of Comparative Medicine. The session will include tips and tricks for anesthetic monitoring of these species, practical use of multimodal analgesia, an update on long acting analgesia, and more.
Take the opportunity to learn from one of the experts in the field! The session is suitable both for people working with laboratory animals and for people working with pet rodents and rabbits in veterinary clinics.

Cholawat Pacharinsak Associate Professor

Cholawat Pacharinsak: Dr. Pacharinsak is an Associate Professor and Director of Veterinary Anesthesia, Analgesia, and Surgery at Stanford University’s Department of Comparative Medicine at Stanford University; he is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (DACVAA). He received his DVM from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and trained in an Anesthesiology and Analgesia residency program and received his Master's degree at Washington State University. He completed his PhD in Pain Neuroscience(Comparative Molecular Biosciences) from the University of Minnesota. Prior to arriving at Stanford, Dr. Pacharinsak was a faculty member in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Michigan State University and Purdue University; and served as a Clinical Specialist at UCLA.
