About Oslo and Holmenkollen
The capital of Norway is also its largest city with almost 635,000 inhabitants.
Surrounded by forests and lakes, Norway’s eclectic capital boasts a wide range of outdoor activities and is also a cultural and economic hotspot. Oslo is one of Europe’s fastest growing capitals with a skyline that is constantly changing to accommodate a growing population.

The Oslo Fjord is perfect for boat sightseeing, swimming, and island hopping. The city is surrounded by forests, which are great for biking and hiking, and Oslo Summer Park offers both downhill biking and a climbing park.
The shopping capital of Norway offers everything from the latest international trends to modern Norwegian designs and local handicrafts. The main shopping areas in Oslo are: The city center around Karl Johans gate, Majorstuen with the streets Bogstadveien and Hegdehaugsveie, Frogner and Bygdøy Allé and Grünerløkka.

Holmenkollen is the hill you see on the north western side of Oslo. It takes 20-30 minutes to get here from the city center – the view from the subway on the way up the hill is worth the trip alone!

The Holmenkollen area is a gateway to Nordmarka, one of the most popular recreational areas in the city. Inside the ski jump is the Holmenkollen Ski Museum, the oldest of its kind in the world. The museum presents over 4,000 years of skiing history, Norwegian polar exploration artifacts and an exhibition on snowboarding and modern skiing.
The observation deck on top of the jump tower offers panoramic views of Oslo.
Hotell Soria Moria is situated at the top of Holmenkollen.
